Gentle comfort falling from the sky

I don't know about you  but we are glad to see and smell the rain. Brings out the southern comfort in me. A little vegetable beef soup today along with some poppy seed chicken. And I also found myself motivated to make some Beef Burgundy. It has been a while, but we are always here cooking for you so plese come by for a visit, or just pie and coffee would be nice, Everything is made from scratch just like home. A Good Day...(even though you might be feeling bad)

My daughter gave me a bad cold this weekend...but today, even though I am feeling bad. I have made the best broccoli cheese i have ever made. Put a smile on my face, its not one of my best soups. My casserole came out very well too. A chicken an Artichoke with spinach in a nice lemon cream sauce. And then the strawberry pie with blueberries is a breath of summer.....and so it goes at the Big Table. Even when you might feel bad a little comfort food will warm your heart and put a smile on your face on the worst of days. So remember ; The Big Table for good days and the bad ones as well...we might just be able to turn that day around. Come see us  at The Big Table.

Easter Delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wake Up Chattanooga!

Its our monthly Sunday Brunch at The Big Table today starting at 11 with all your breakfast favorites, biscuits and gravy, a spinach and egg frittata, spicy cheesy grits and fresh fruit, cold salads and lunch items as well. Where are you Chattanooga ?

   This business is a hit or miss, sometimes we are rocking and some times we are sleepy," whose to say." Not me.Made a really nice chicken an spinach casserole and a favorite soup or two, 2- squash and cheese and black bean and chicken which rates up there as top soups.
    Its porch sitting time and ours is open and clean so you need to come by and see whats happening at the Big Table. I think I just say David make some Crab Cakes for dinner. And remember our Sunday Brunch is this weekend from 11 - 2. So get out and enjoy the day with a Big Table Salad ...and some sunshine on the porch.

Find Some Comfort

They say a storm is brewing but here at The Big Table there is comfort simmering in a pot of Loaded Potato Soup or a rich French Onion, with melted cheesiness. There is all so a chicken pot pie full of chicken and gravy topped with a nice southern biscuit.   David is busy prepping his fresh vegetables for dinner, making a remoulade for his Crab Cakes and a nice brown sauce for Pot Roast. Sounds like good comfort to me! Stop by and wish The Big Table a happy birthday and receive half price off on any home made dessert.

Beautiful Week

Looking at a beautiful week this week. Need to enjoy it with your favorite people having a nice lunch at the Big Table. Enjoying a fresh casserole of the day tetrazzini and beef stroganoff or keep it simple with a half and half . A little corn chowder or white bean 'n chicken with our famous Big table salad. ( A mix baby green salad covered with strawberries, pears , feta and toasted walnuts........) Then there is always a nice quite dinner of Crab cakes,  Fillet of beef or a Pork Schnitzel followed with a luscious piece of Chocolate chess pie or better yet a piece of coconut cream pie. Soup is ON!!!!!!

Cream of Chicken and Wild Rice Soup today to sooth the soul on such a rainy day. Or maybe you would like to kick it up a notch with a spicy vegetarian black bean soup. Either will comfort you on such a miserable day. Our casseroles are the popular Chicken Tetrazini and and a really nice Chicken Divan. Sandwiches for the day are the chicken salad, Reuben, Club wrap and roast chicken. But if you can t make lunch David is serving fresh Salmon this week and a really nice pan seared filet with balsamic mushrooms. Be sure to get by and see us here at The Big Table. January Rain

What a nasty day outside ..good for hot soup and baking. Made a Creamy Tomato soup today and White bean and ham for the hearty. Baked a pineapple upside down cake for the first time. It is like candy...I love a good pineapple. Also made a coconut cream pie because it seems to becoming the pie of choice these days. How bout a nice warm bowl of soup and a sweet piece of pie @ The Big Table. See you there!

Sunday Brunch @ The Big Table

The Big Table is hosting their Sunday Brunch today from 11 -2.
Need to get by and enjoy all your favorites. Dave's famous biscuits and gravy, French Toast, Apple wood Bacon, Hash brown Casserole, Grilled Asparagus, Ham and Cheese Omelets, Egg Fritata, and Garlic Roasted Pork Tenderloin. Snow?

As we are preparing for the snow???? Come and get a nice pot of  homemade vegetable soup to get snowed in with. Made some Poppy Seed Chicken today with a nice mushroom Marsala sauce. Not sure whats next on my agenda but I am sure it will involve cooking up something.  Big Table is Host the Sunday Brunch  This Sunday the 15th 11 - 2. Looking forward to biscuits and gravy, egg fritata and a Roast Pork tenderloin.. so i will be making Cuban sandwiches as well . Oh don't for get the Big table banana pudding...yummmmmmmm

Back in the groove

The Big Table is back and had a great first day. Been backing up a storm today, Carrot Cake, Key lime pie, and Chocolate chess. Made a few really good casseroles, Spinach and Sun dried tomato, and Beef pot pie. David is bringing back the fillet this week. Made everyone's favorite yesterday apple pear chutney  to go on the Pane or a grilled pork chop. You need to come by the Big Table and enjoy some favorite foods and company.
Hosting the Big Table Brunch on Sunday the 15th, open from 11-2.
